Deal | Two AAA games now free for all Xbox users for a limited time

Xbox users can try two major games for free this weekend via Microsoft's latest Free Play Days promotion. PGA Tour 2K25 and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 are available to all Xbox members from now until September 27, with no Xbox Game Pass subscription required. The offer arrives despite a rocky stretch for Microsoft's gaming division, which recently confirmed further layoffs and title cancellations, even as it teased an upcoming expansion of the Halo franchise.

PGA Tour 2K25 includes a MyPLAYER career mode, allowing players to compete on famous courses for a shot at the Masters' green jacket. The Division 2, originally released in 2019 and since optimised for Series S|X, is being promoted ahead of a crossplay update and new downloadable content due in November; its free trial weekend is paired with a 90% discount on both Xbox and Steam for anyone tempted to buy in early.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers on any tier can also get access to two further titles: The Escapists 2, a cooperative prison-escape comedy, and Young Suns, a narrative-driven multiplayer life sim set on Jupiter. All four games are now free until September 27. The promotion suggests Xbox is leaning on discounted access in order to soften recent negative headlines.
