Deal | Steam: This fan-favorite platformer is down from $30 to $3 for the first time

Ori and the Blind Forest had already won over plenty of fans with its fairytale-like visuals, music and challenging platforming sections, so expectations for the sequel were understandably high. Ori and the Will of the Wisps picks up directly after the first game but tells a new adventure – and fans have responded extremely well. The 2020 title from Moon Studios and Xbox Game Studios is now 90% off on Steam for the first time (according to SteamDB), bringing the price down to around $3 from $30. Previously, its lowest price was around $7.50.

Ori is a small, glowing creature who lives in a forest with their family. When a flight with the young owl Ku goes wrong, the two end up in the unfamiliar land of Niwen. There, Ori sets out to find Ku and discovers a world threatened by decay. The game is played from a side-scrolling perspective. Ori jumps and climbs through forests, caves and deserts, avoids hazards and learns abilities that open up previously inaccessible areas. Those who explore beyond the direct path can find upgrades and shards that give Ori additional advantages. Combat is also more extensive than in the first game: In addition to various weapons, players now face proper boss enemies.

According to the German gaming magazine PC Games, Will of the Wisps offers beautiful presentation, an emotional story and highly polished, varied platforming gameplay. While the new features compared to its predecessor are somewhat limited, the game still earned a strong 9 out of 10. The hyped platformer has now received more than 146,000 reviews on Steam, 96% of which are positive. Those who haven't played the first game can currently pick it up at 75% off for $5 instead of $20. However, playing it isn't necessary, as the story also works on its own. Both titles are also playable on the Steam Deck.
