Hytale developer offers $15,000 for defeating new boss under strict conditions

With Chapter 1, Hytale is getting a new boss: the Gobliterator. The fight is set to feature multiple phases and will also be playable in a more difficult variant. Even before players get a chance to face the boss, Hytale Director Simon Collins-Laflamme has added another incentive: He is promising $15,000 to the first player who defeats the Gobliterator under particularly strict conditions.

The Gobliterator must be defeated on Hard Mode. At the same time, the entire run has to be completed in Hardcore Mode – solo, without armor, potions or glitches. Iron weapons from Exploration Mode are allowed. The attempt must be streamed so the run can later be verified using the recording. Collins-Laflamme also rules out taking a shortcut through Creative Mode.

Players are eager, but the rules aren't entirely clear yet

The announcement has been well received by players on X. Many appear eager to take on the challenge and say they plan to train specifically for it and develop strategies. However, the current rules raise a few questions: Does the entire run have to be completed without armor or only the boss fight? And can someone participate if they are streaming for the first time specifically for the challenge? Collins-Laflamme explicitly refers to the first streamer, but has not yet specified any requirements regarding audience size or previous streams. He plans to publish a more detailed version of the rules before the launch of Chapter 1, which is scheduled for October 12, 2026.
