iQOO confirms new compact gaming tablet set to rival Legion Tab Gen 5

iQOO will be among the first brands to introduce a flagship phone powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Alongside it, the company will be releasing a gaming tablet that's powered by the same performance-focused SoC, the Pad Ultra.

Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker, recently reported that there will be another new iQOO tablet, and Hui Huizi, the company's product manager, has now shared some initial official details of the pad. It appears to be a direct rival to the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5, which packs the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

The "Pro-level" iQOO tablet will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but Huizi didn't confirm whether it will be paired with an active cooler. The company official has, however, shared that the device will have an 8.8-inch display, which should make it as compact as the upper-end Pad Ultra and the Legion Tab Gen 5.

There will be gaming-focused enhancements, including the Q3 eSports chipset, for a smooth gaming experience. Other details about this "Pro-level" iQOO tablet are under wraps, but Digital Chat Station reported that the price points will be different, and the launch prices will reflect the performance difference.

In related news, iQOO has recently confirmed that the Pad Ultra will feature a 9,020mAh battery, which is larger than the battery inside the RedMagic Astra 2 but is practically the same as the one found in the Lenovo Tab Gen 5 (45W Iniu mini 10k power bank cur. $29.68 on Amazon). It's unclear whether the other tablet will have the same capacity, but the good part is that the Chinese launch event is set for September 29, 2026, which is around the corner.
