The game is set at HoloHigh, where tensions between the rebellious second-year group Myth and the strict first-year Student Council escalate following a vandalism incident. Players take control of Amelia Watson and investigate the incident after her friend Gawr Gura is found with the paint. The resulting investigation leads to trials, with players uncovering what actually happened.

Structurally and tonally, the game borrows heavily from Ace Attorney and Danganronpa, blending courtroom interrogation with mystery-solving. Reviewers have praised its detailed art and animation and noted that, unusually for a free release, it feels complete rather than truncated. User reports indicate a total playtime of around five to 10 hours, which is also substantial for a no-cost title.

The game arrives at a moment when Capcom has released no new mainline Ace Attorney entry since 2017, leaving a gap that few other titles have attempted to fill. The game is available for free on Steam and is also playable on Steam Deck, although Valve has not awarded it "Steam Deck Verified" status.
