The Analogue3D has received a new software update
Analogue has released an updated version of 3DOS for the Analogue 3D. The software version 1.5 introduces numerous improvements for the N64-compatible FPGA console, including a new mode called "Internal Graphical Upscaling".

Analogue has released firmware 1.5 for the Analogue3D. The latest version of 3DOS introduces numerous changes, the most significant of which is likely Internal Graphical Upscaling. Analogue says the feature substantially improves image quality while remaining faithful to the game designers' original intent. Screenshots can also be captured in this mode. Games that use 2D graphics should not be adversely affected by internal graphical upscaling either.

Another new feature is called "Recent Memory", which lets players return to their game when starting the FPGA console. Analogue has also resolved issues that could cause games to stutter, as well as compatibility problems with the 8BitDo N64 Modkit. The Modkit must also be updated for all related issues to be resolved. The system interface has also been refined to improve usability. Analogue additionally fixed several rare interface bugs.

The update is available now as a roughly 22MB download. To update the FPGA console, the new firmware must be copied to an SD card. Any other firmware updates on the card should be deleted beforehand. Once the SD card is reinserted, the console should update automatically. The process may take several minutes, during which the Analogue3D must not be turned off. Alternatively, the console can be updated via USB Type-C, although the process is somewhat more complicated.
