Zelda 40th Anniversary logo leaks, as Ocarina of Time remake release date approaches

Recently, reports about a Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller emerged. Now, an insider has shared a logo associated with the accessory that celebrates the Nintendo franchise. Anticipation is rising for a Zelda 40th Anniversary event, possibly coinciding with the Ocarina of Time remake release date.
“Necro” Felipe earlier leaked information about the controller. Now, he has shared a non-exact recreation of the logo which will likely appear on packaging for the hardware, or the device itself. Necro Felipe has a mixed reputation for accuracy. However, Nintendeal has reliably revealed product details and vouches for the graphic’s accuracy.
A mix of old and new
The icon matches the color scheme of the rumored accessory. Exclusively in gold, “40th” sits on top of text reading “The Legend of Zelda.” Above the number is the Hylian Crest with the recognizable Triforce symbol in its center. A green-and-brown retro 8-bit Link is seen toward the right edge in an attack pose.

It’s unclear when Nintendo might finally recognize the Zelda 40th Anniversary. The first game in the series debuted in Japan in February 1986, meaning that the exact date has passed. Still, the gaming giant has often waited until later in the year to mark milestones.
Timing for announcements
Buyers know that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake release date is set for 2026. The company could host a Direct presentation to premiere gameplay footage and open pre-orders. Even so, the Switch 2 Pro Controller would have a general theme rather than an OOT-specific design. That gives the manufacturer the option to separate announcements.
Insider Shpeshal Nick believes that a limited-edition Switch 2 console is also incoming. Nintendo has in the past shipped games, hardware, and accessories to commemorate Link and the Princess. In this case, a Zelda film is also releasing in April 2027.
Fans of the characters have grown impatient, envious of how Nintendo recognized the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. in September 2025. If the same pattern holds, Zelda loyalists could see their celebration during a general Direct. An Ocarina of Time remake broadcast remains another possibility.
