„Weird and annoying“: GTA 6 fans are slowly losing patience

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously told Variety that the promotional campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI would begin in early summer 2026. However, the official start of summer was nearly a month ago. Aside from the launch of pre-orders, fans have received little more than a handful of new screenshots since then. As a recent Reddit discussion shows, many in the community are beginning to lose patience.
One of the top comments in the thread comes from u/Ashamed_Ad1622, who wrote: "Their marketing is very weird and honestly annoying." Many Reddit users find it unusual that the game is already available for pre-order despite the continued absence of a third trailer and a proper gameplay showcase. Reddit user u/JohnKowalsky88 jokingly remarked that fans now know more about the Ultimate Edition than they do about the game itself.
At the same time, many players understand Rockstar's silence from the studio's perspective. After all, GTA 6 remains one of the gaming industry's biggest talking points even without an active marketing campaign. Some believe Rockstar is simply planning one major marketing push around Trailer 3 before letting the community generate the rest of the hype on its own.
Maybe not until August?
Many Reddit users now expect Rockstar's silence to continue throughout July. That view is also shared by well-known gaming insider Tom Henderson. In his opinion, Take-Two has little to gain from releasing Trailer 3 too early. While the trailer would dominate gaming discussions for a few days, fans would immediately begin waiting for the next information drop. Henderson therefore believes Rockstar may not reveal anything new until mid or late August, while emphasizing that this is only his personal opinion.
So, when will we actually get trailer 3? Again, this is just my opinion, but I really don’t think Take-Two needs to do anything until mid-late August.
