Nvidia is giving away a custom GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card wrapped in artwork from Gears of War: E-Day, as part of its GeForce Summer Nights promotion. Only one unit is being given away.

To enter, fans need to comment #RTXPowersPlay on Nvidia's posts and watch GeForce presenter @GeForce_JacobF live during Nvidia's Gears of War takeover. Full terms and conditions are listed on Nvidia's GeForce website. The giveaway accompanies a confirmed partnership between Nvidia and Gears of War: E-Day developers. The partnership is aimed at bringing a set of RTX features to the game on PC.

Gears of War: E-Day will support DLSS Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation, both part of DLSS 4.5, alongside Nvidia Reflex for reduced input latency. The game also uses hardware ray tracing for shadows, global illumination through Unreal Engine 5's Lumen system, and Nvidia's MegaLights technology. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5.8 with DirectX 12. Support for AMD FSR, Intel XeSS and Unreal Engine's built-in TSR is also confirmed, meaning upscaling will be available on GPUs outside Nvidia's lineup as well.

According to the developers, GPUs without hardware ray tracing support will not run the game, even at the lowest settings. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, one of the oldest cards with ray tracing hardware, is expected to meet the minimum requirement.

The game will also ship with a system called Advanced Shader Delivery, which pre-compiles shaders ahead of launch to reduce stutter during first-time play. At launch, this will work through the Microsoft Store and the Xbox PC app, with support for other platforms to follow.

Gears of War: E-Day is set to launch on October 6. Early access to its open beta begins August 6 for players who have pre-ordered the game or who subscribe to PC Game Pass.
