90s internet simulator Hypnospace Outlaw secures July mobile release date

Hypnospace Outlaw is officially heading to mobile devices. Publisher No More Robots and developer Tendershoot have announced that the quirky, nostalgic detective game will launch on iOS and Android on July 23, 2026, giving players a chance to police a dream-based version of the early internet right from their phones.
Optimized touch controls and mobile features
Originally released in 2019 for PC and later ported to home consoles, Hypnospace Outlaw has been redesigned from the ground up specifically for touchscreens. The upcoming mobile port features a completely revamped user interface alongside native touch controls. Dragging files, closing annoying pop-up windows, and navigating complex web pages have all been carefully adapted to feel intuitive on smaller smartphones and tablets.
The mobile edition will follow a generous free-to-start pricing model. Players can download the game and explore the opening chapters entirely for free, with a single, one-time in-app purchase available to unlock the full narrative experience. Additionally, the game contains no real-world advertisements, ensuring that the only annoying adware you encounter is the fictional, virus-laden software hiding inside the game's simulated operating system.
Policing the digital frontier of 1999
Set in an alternate-history 1999, Hypnospace Outlaw tasks players with becoming an online moderator for a sleeping public. In this world, citizens browse the internet while asleep using a special headband device, and where there is an internet, there is inevitably digital mischief. As a hired Hypnospace Enforcer, your primary job is to scour the web's weirdest corners to hunt down copyright violations, internet harassment, and malicious software.
Successfully enforcing the law earns you HypnoCoins, which you can spend on a variety of hilarious digital oddities. Players can download wacky screensavers, customize their virtual desktop with helpful bots, purchase custom music files, and explore hundreds of fictional, highly detailed web pages that perfectly capture the charmingly messy, neon-hued aesthetic of the early World Wide Web.
With its smart design, sharp social satire, and retro world, Hypnospace Outlaw remains a unique standout in its genre. Mobile gamers will finally be able to step into the shoes of a late-nineties cyber-cop when the game officially hits the App Store and Google Play on July 23, 2026.
