Casio G-Shock just teamed up with the world's biggest gaming platform, gets its own game

Casio has launched a G-Shock presence on Roblox today as part of what it's calling the "Virtual G-Shock project". That means two things: a skateboarding obstacle course called "Challenge the Skate Obby: G-Shock," and 12 virtual watch items available for purchase in the Roblox catalog.
The obby (Roblox's shorthand for obstacle course) is a genre that basically built the platform. It puts players on a skateboard through a G-Shock-themed course inspired by the brand's own durability testing process. Players have to dodge moving hammers, walk through narrow paths, and race through checkpoints to reach the finish line. Checkpoints respawn you on the spot if you fall, so it's less about punishment and more about improving your best time. A special launch event runs from today through August 2 (UTC).
The virtual items on stake are the DW-5600 and GA-2100 — two of G-Shock's most popular lineups — each available in six colors for a total of 12 pieces. If you wear them inside theSkate Obby, it also triggers special in-game effects.
Roblox has over 150 million daily active users, most of them young. It makes sense that a brand like G-Shock, which has spent decades dedicated to exactly that demographic through streetwear, collabs, and music culture, has now decided to tap into a massive user base.
The game is live now at roblox.com. The catalog items dropped at 3:00 am UTC today.
