Casio's new G-Steel GST-B1000BD watches launch in the US with black ion-plating

Casio's G-Steel GST-B1000BD series, which launched in Japan in June at ¥75,900, is finally available in the US. The GSTB1000BD-1A and GSTB1000BD-2A are both listed on gshock.casio.com at $510 each.
The BD variants are an all-black take on the GST-B1000, which arrived late last year as Casio's most refined G-Steel to date. The minimalist design features a logo-free bezel that changes its appearance depending on lighting, with a stainless steel band with hairline and mirror finishes. Black ion plating covers virtually every metal component — the bezel, bracelet, side buttons, screw-lock crown, clasp, and exterior screws. Thanks to this, both get a unified, low-profile aesthetic that is more dress watch-coded than a typical G-Shock. The difference between the two is the dial: the GSTB1000BD-1A is all-black, while the GSTB1000BD-2A scores a deep blue textured dial.
The dial on both usess a brick pattern borrowed from the original DW-5000C, Casio's first-ever G-Shock from 1983. The core of the watch is made from bio-based carbon-reinforced resin, protected by the stainless steel bezel and exterior.
The case measures 46.9 × 44.2 × 11.6 mm and weighs 118 g, which means it is slimmer than the full-metal CasiOak GM-B2100. Power comes from Tough Solar, with Bluetooth connectivity for auto time sync via the Casio Watches app. Other specs include 20-bar water resistance, stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, and Super Illuminator LED.
Both models are available now at gshock.casio.com. Alternatively, you can check out the Casio GST-B1000D-3A on Amazon.
