Tapo releases new security camera with bright floodlight

The Tapo C710 2K Pan/Tilt IP65 Floodlight Camera is now available in the US. Designed for outdoor use, this smart security camera from the TP-Link sub-brand could be used to monitor and light up your driveway or yard.
Tapo’s C710 has a 2K 3MP pan/tilt camera, with color night vision and an infrared (IR) mode. It comes with a free AI detection tool, which can identify people, vehicles and pets, and intelligently pan to track their movement. Other features include scheduled 360° panoramic scans, sound and light alarms to deter intruders, and a two-way talk function.
The camera sits below an adjustable angle floodlight which can deliver up to 1,500 lumens brightness at 4,000K. Thanks to an integrated passive infrared (PIR) sensor with an up to 165° detection angle and 25 ft (~7.6 m) range, the floodlight can be activated by motion. You can remotely manage the device via the brand’s app, and it also supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. This hard-wired security camera requires 2.5 GHZ Wi-Fi, with users able to store video footage locally or in the cloud.
You can now buy the TP-Link Tapo C710 2K Pan/Tilt IP65 Floodlight Camera for $99.99 at the brand’s online store or via its Amazon storefront. Whether or when this smart home product could be released in Europe remains to be seen.
