Philips Hue Lucca: Brighter outdoor smart lights on the way

The Philips Hue Lucca smart light series is set to be upgraded. There are three existing products in this range: the Hue Lucca Outdoor pedestal light, the Hue Lucca Outdoor wall light and the Hue Lucca Outdoor path light.

A recent report by Hueblog.com suggests that new versions of the Philips Hue Lucca path light, pedestal light, and wall light are on the way. The original versions have E26 LED bulbs with up to 800 lumens brightness. Some variants of the Lucca light could only deliver white lighting. According to the rumors, the refreshed Hue Lucca lights will each be equipped with Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance E27 bulbs. Not only does this add colored lighting effects, but it is also said to boost the brightness up to 1,100 lumens.

It is unclear whether the Philips Hue Lucca outdoor smart lights will have any other differences compared to the original model. They are expected to be controlled via the Philips Hue app or with voice commands, as is the case with the predecessors.

Philips Hue has yet to officially announce the new Lucca smart lighting products. As such, it is unclear when they will launch. As an indication of price, the original Hue Lucca White and Color Ambiance Outdoor Wall Light retails for $99.99 (Amazon). Philips Hue is also refreshing the Flourish table lamp and the Hue Turaco outdoor wall light.
