New Philips Hue app update brings AI assistant to more users

A new version of the Philips Hue app has arrived. Version 5.60.1 has been released almost two weeks after its predecessor, version 5.59. This brought minor bug fixes and improvements to users of the brand’s smart home products.
With version 5.60.1, the Philips Hue app’s AI assistant gains support for three new languages: Spanish, German, and Dutch. This tool started to roll out in June 2025, though it was only available in English at first. The assistant can be used to recommend scenes or generate customized lighting effects to suit your needs. Users can communicate with the tool using voice or text prompts in the chat.
Another new feature has arrived for Philips Hue wired cameras, like the Secure Wired camera (curr. $122.99 at Amazon Marketplace). Users of these devices can now set up a custom motion detection area, which is used to trigger linked smart lights. It can be tailored to humans, pets or vehicles. This setting can be found under Camera settings > Trigger lights > Trigger area. Plus, users of the Hue Secure Wired video doorbell can now choose the sound chime played to visitors. To select your sound, go to Doorbell settings > Doorbell sound.
You can now download Philips Hue app version 5.60.1 for iOS from the Apple App Store, or for Android from the Google Play Store.
