Home Assistant app update brings more than ten new features and improvements

A new version of the Home Assistant smartphone app for iOS is here. Version 2026.2 has arrived around a month after the 2026.1 release, which brought improvements linked to CarPlay and the Control Center.
Home Assistant iOS app version 2026.2 adds a new entities-related feature: you can now add entities from your dashboard directly to your Apple Watch, CarPlay or Widgets. There is also a new optional Quick search gesture, and users can now “mute response” when using the Assist function.
The release notes for version 2026.2 also state that there are said to be improvements for the entity picker, the download manager and the WebRTC camera player, though Home Assistant has not detailed these changes. There is a new setting to enable edge-to-edge drawing of the Home Assistant Dashboard. Plus, the app will not automatically refresh after five minutes of inactivity.
The complete change log for the Home Assistant iOS app version 2026.2 can be found in the screenshot below. To download this update, go to the Apple App Store.
