New Philips Hue Essential smart strip lights now available in Europe

Philips Hue has officially released four new Essential Strip lights in Europe. One of these products is already available at the brand's online store in the US, and was spotted at some EU retailers earlier in February 2026. The four smart strip lights are:
- Philips Hue Essential Strip light 5 m (16 ft)
- Philips Hue Essential Strip light 10 m (32 ft)
- Philips Hue Essential Flex Strip light 5 m (16 ft)
- Philips Hue Essential Flex Strip light 10 m (32 ft)
These smart strip lights are entry-level products in the Philips Hue range. As such, they offer reduced functionality compared to other Philips Hue strip lights. For example, an Essential product can only dim to 2%, whereas other models can dim to 0.2%. Plus, the color blending technology used in the Essential range is less advanced.
There are several differences between the Philips Hue Essential and Essential Flex Strip lights. The standard Essential products are designed to be used in straight lines, such as beneath a cupboard or along a stair. However, the Flex model can be bent to the user's shape of choice, meaning it could be used to decorate a wall or along a rounded corner. They have different dimensions, with the Essential measuring 2.0 mm (~0.079 inches) tall and 0.386 mm (~0.015 inches) wide, while the Flex is 13.0 mm (~0.512 inches) tall and 0.256 mm (~0.010 inches) wide. Plus, while neither can be extended, only the regular Hue Essential strip lights can be cut down to a smaller size.
You can now buy the Philips Hue Essential Strip Light in 5 m and 10 m lengths for €59.99 and €99.99, respectively. The Philips Hue Essential Flex Strip light in 5 m and 10m lengths is priced at €99.99 and €169.99.
