Star Ring's new ambient lighting kit bringing Philips Hue effects to Tesla vehicles
Philips Hue lovers can add similar lighting effects to their Tesla EVs with the upcoming Star Ring Tesla ambient light kit, which is now live on Kickstarter. The DIY light kit adds a variety of 360° light effects and safety features, with OEM-like fit, according to the company.
The Star Ring Tesla ambient light kit is compatible with the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. The components have been designed to fit the interior with leather wraps matching the original interiors.
The kit consists of the following zone lights:
- 1 Front-Row Light
- 2 Front Driver Door Light
- 3 Front Passenger Door Light
- 4 Footwell Light
- 5 Wireless Charging Pad Light
- 6 Front Armrest Light
- 7 Rear Armrest Light
- 8 Rear Door Light
- 9 Front Seat-Back Light
- 10 Rear Footwell Light
- 11 Front Saddle Light
The entire 360° kit does not need to be installed, so owners can choose to only light up specific interior zones within their Teslas.
The lighting kit provides synchronized effects such as Rhythmic Beam pulsing in sync to music. The Star Ring light kit also increases safety, with lighting for Blind Spot and Door Ajar alerts. The lighting effects can be customized and expanded through a smartphone app, allowing the system to gain new features over time.
Readers can preorder the Star Ring Tesla ambient light kit on Kickstarter at a Super Early Bird price of $509 for the Tesla Model 3 or Y kits, with shipping starting January 2027.
