MacBook Pro alternatives launch globally with 20-core CPU, 128 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD and RTX Spark N1X

Asus has officially launched the ProArt P14 and P16 globally as its first creator laptops powered by Nvidia's RTX Spark N1X Superchip. The two models are designed for creative workloads and local AI applications.
We first covered the ProArt P14 and P16 when Asus announced the RTX Spark-powered laptops at Computex. Asus later provided additional details about the two models before their global launch.
The ProArt P16 is the larger of the two laptops. Its RTX Spark N1X configuration includes a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU and a Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores. Asus offers up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
The P16 has a 16-inch Lumina Pro OLED touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The top configuration uses a 3,840 x 2,400 4K panel with up to 1,600 nits HDR brightness, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and Nvidia G-SYNC support. Asus also offers a 2,880 x 1,800 3K OLED configuration.
It measures around 13.94 x 9.57 inches and is between 0.51 and 0.63 inches thick. Connectivity includes three USB4 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5 mm audio jack and an SD Express 7.0 card reader. Wireless connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The ProArt P14 uses the same RTX Spark N1X hardware but comes in a smaller body. It is between 0.55 and 0.63 inches thick and has a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display can reach 1,600 nits in HDR mode, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and has a Delta E below 1.
Memory goes up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X, while storage is available with a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The laptop has a 90 Wh battery. For connectivity, you get three USB4 ports, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5 mm audio jack and an SD 4.0 card reader. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The RTX Spark architecture is a major change from the previous ProArt P16 generation (currently available on Amazon), which used AMD Ryzen processors with discrete Nvidia GeForce graphics. We reviewed the previous model with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, 64 GB of RAM and a 4K 120 Hz OLED display.
With RTX Spark, the Grace CPU and Blackwell GPU share the same unified memory pool. Asus says the system is aimed at workloads such as large language models, image and video generation, AI agents and complex 3D applications.
Asus is also adding software for running AI workloads locally on its RTX Spark laptops. The company has partnered with ComfyUI and Hermes Agent by Nous Research, while its own software supports other local AI tasks.
The two ProArt laptops can be compared with Apple's MacBook Pro models in their respective size classes. The P16 weighs 1.77 kg (3.9 lb), making it lighter than the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which weighs 2.14 kg (4.7 lb) with the M5 Pro and 2.15 kg (4.7 lb) with the M5 Max, which we have reviewed. Battery capacity is also slightly higher on the P16 at 99.9 Wh, compared with 99.6 Wh on the 16-inch MacBook Pro. However, the P16 supports up to 2 TB of SSD storage, while the MacBook Pro can be configured with up to 8 TB.
The P14 weighs 1.48 kg (3.26 lb) and is closer in size to the 14-inch MacBook Pro. It has a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, while Apple's 14.2-inch MacBook Pro uses a Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120 Hz. The P14 also supports touch input, which the MacBook Pro does not.
