Lenovo releases new 15-inch laptop for $799 with up to 32 GB RAM and over 16 hours battery life

Lenovo has now released the IdeaPad Vibe 15AKP12 across Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia and North America. Detailed at the end of September, the 15-inch laptop is one of three IdeaPad Vibe 15 laptops that Lenovo now sells.
According to our benchmarks, the IdeaPad Vibe 15AKP12 sits between the IdeaPad Vibe 15Q8X12 and IdeaPad Vibe 15AGP12 in CPU workloads with Ryzen AI 5 330, Snapdragon X X1-26-100 and Ryzen AI 5 430 APUs, respectively. Specifically, the IdeaPad Vibe 15AKP12 trails the IdeaPad Vibe 15AGP12 by 6% but leads the IdeaPad Vibe 15Q8X12 by 33%.

Conversely, the Ryzen AI 5 330 sits at the bottom of the pile in our GPU benchmarks. Please see our recent IdeaPad Slim 5 16 review (curr. $949 on Amazon) for more details about the Ryzen AI 5 330. Nonetheless, the IdeaPad Vibe 15AKP12 matches its peers in the US with a $799 starting price.
Meanwhile, the 15-inch laptop costs at least AUD 1,829, CAD 1,099, HKD 8,949 and SGD 1,570 in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, respectively. At the time of writing, Lenovo complements this Krackan Point 2 processor with a 1200p IPS display boasting 400 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC colour space coverage.
Moreover, a 50 Wh battery is said to provide up to 16.8 hours of battery life in official 1080p local video playback tests. Currently, one can configure 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB SSD in the US. By contrast, some markets have received 24 GB and 32 GB RAM options, along with plastic and aluminium base plates. Please see Lenovo's website for more details.
