HP releases powerful 16-inch laptop globally with up to AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 and 192GB RAM

After launching its Nvidia Spark-powered laptops, HP has now released another powerful laptop, this time built on AMD's new Gorgon Halo platform. The new HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16 mobile workstation is aimed at demanding tasks such as running large AI models and agents locally, 3D modeling, and data science.
Pricing starts at $3,149 for the base configuration, featuring Ryzen AI Max Pro 480, 16GB of memory, and 512 GB of storage. HP offers higher-end configurations with the Ryzen AI Max Pro 490 and Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 with up to 192GB RAM. In the US, the priciest configuration costs $7,999 and includes the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495, 128GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. For comparison, the OmniBook Ultra (Notebookcheck review) with the higher-end 20-core Nvidia Spark chip, 128GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD comes in at $5,309.99.
Buyers in the UK and Germany can pair the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 with up to 192GB of RAM, but doing so pushes the price to £9,642.06 and €16,625.53, respectively.
The Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 features 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads, and up to 132 TOPS for local AI tasks. It also equips the ZBook Ultra G3a 16 with the Radeon 8065S, a powerful iGPU with 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units. On higher-end models with 192GB of RAM, the GPU can use up to 160GB as VRAM.
The ZBook Ultra G3a 16 ships with a 16-inch IPS display with a 1920 × 1200 resolution, 400 nits of brightness, and 100% sRGB coverage for the base model. HP offers a higher-end option with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and a 120Hz refresh rate in the US.
