HP releases new 14-inch laptop with 1,100-nit OLED display and 128 GB RAM

HP has started selling its first 14-inch laptop featuring Nvidia's RTX Spark N1X architecture. Initially presented during Computex 2026, the new OmniBook X 14 is significantly more powerful than the OmniBook X Flip 14 we reviewed earlier this year (curr. $879 on Amazon). However, this increased performance coincides with far higher launch prices.
Pricing starts at $2,999 in the US with the 18-core RTX Spark N1X, which contains a 5,120-core GPU. Also, this starting configuration features 32 GB of LPDDR5x-9400 RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Alternatively, one can swap in Nvidia's 20-core CPU and 6,144-core GPU chipset for a $420 surcharge while leaving other components untouched.
Meanwhile, HP charges a further $580 for upgrading the OmniBook X to 64 GB of RAM, bringing the 14-inch laptop to $3,999. Finally, the latest OmniBook X reaches $5,109 when configured with 128 GB of RAM. This SKU retains 1 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage too, despite the massive price increase.
For reference, all configurations contain the same 80 Wh battery and MediaTek MT7925 modem with Bluetooth 6.0 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. On top of that, HP includes all SKUs with an identical OLED display that outputs at 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Moreover, this display boasts 500 nits peak brightness in SDR mode and 1,100 nits in HDR mode. Pre-orders should start shipping on November 6. Please see HP's website for more details.
