MSI releases new 16-inch laptop with 128 GB RAM, 1,000-nit OLED display and 20-core Nvidia RTX Spark
MSI has joined Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Microsoft in releasing an Nvidia RTX Spark-powered laptop. Specifically, MSI has started selling the Prestige N16 Flip AI+, the second RTX Spark-powered 2-in-1 alongside the Yoga 9n 2-in-1. More details about Lenovo's alternative can be found in our corresponding launch article.
The Prestige N16 Flip starts at $3,299 in the US. By contrast, the 16-inch 2-in-1 retails for £3,099 in the UK with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD but rises to £4,099 with 64 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, MSI has priced the Prestige N16 Flip as follows in the Eurozone:
- 32 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD - €3,899.90
- 64 GB RAM / 1 TB SSD - €5,099.90
- 128 GB RAM / 2 TB SSD - €7,999.90
Despite massive price differences, all configurations contain the 20-core CPU and a 6,144-core GPU version of the RTX Spark N1X. Additionally, MSI includes a 99.9 Wh battery that supports 140 W charging within a 1.9 kg and 357.7 x 254.3 x 13.9~16.9 mm housing that mirrors the existing Prestige 16 Flip (curr. $1,899 on Amazon).
Moreover, all models feature a Tandem OLED display with a 3,840 x 2,400-pixel resolution, a 30~120 Hz variable refresh rate and 1,000 nits peak brightness in HDR mode. For reference, we cannot currently find any new references to or product listings for the EdgeMesa N AI+, MSI's first RTX Spark-powered mini-PC.
However, Nvidia now indicates that all RTX Spark-powered desktops will only ship with RTX Spark N1X chipsets containing a 20-core CPU and a 6,144-core GPU. Please see MSI's website for more details about its first RTX Spark-based release.
