Huawei Mate 20 Pro now receiving the Android Q-based EMUI 10 update globally
The Huawei Mate 30 Phones were released last month and had the honor of being the first Huawei phones to feature the company's latest iteration of its EMUI skin—EMUI 10 based on Android Q. The Mate 20 Pro has now joined that esteemed list, as users of the last-gen flagship are confirming receipt of the EMUI 10 update.
The EMUI 10 update comes as the September security patch. EMUI 10 saw a significant UI overhaul along with redesigns to major system apps. The update also brings a host of innovative features that debuted on Android Q.
The OTA, with build number 10.0.0.136, weighs in at a massive 4.42 GB. EMUI is generally regarded as one of the heaviest OEM skins and that shows here, considering lighter skins like Oxygen OS have their Android Q-based updates coming in at under 2 GB.
Users in the Netherlands are receiving the update and we expect other owners of the Mate 20 Pro in Europe to get their taste of Q soon. Other Kirin 980-powered will likely get a similar treatment in the coming weeks. (Mate 20 Pro on sale now at Amazon)
