Casio launches new G-Shock Move 5600 series watches with heart rate sensor
Two new Casio G-Shock Move watches have arrived in the US: the DWH5600MB1A4 and the DWH5600MB8A9. The models launched earlier this year in Japan where they are known as the DW-H5600MB-1A4 and the DW-H5600MB-8A9. The original version launched in the US last year.
The 5600 series multi-sport watches are designed to help you to track your workouts. They feature an optical sensor, allowing you to monitor your heart rate and blood oxygen level, and an accelerometer for step count. Users can access the Polar smartwatch library for workout analysis and breathing exercises. Plus, the watches are compatible with Strava. Both 5600 models have a MIP LCD with Bluetooth connectivity, bringing further features like sleep analysis via the Casio Watches app. The watches can run for around 35 hours on a single charge, though solar charging should extend this.
The DWH5600MB1A4 has a black resin watch casing and strap with a black stainless steel bezel, while the DWH5600MB8A9 has a light gray body and band alongside a silver bezel. You can now buy the Casio G-Shock Move DWH5600MB1A4 and DWH5600MB8A9 watches for $320 in the US. This makes them slightly more expensive than the original DWH5600-1, which has a resin rather than stainless steel bezel, currently available for $294.90 at Amazon. It is unclear whether or when they will roll out to more continents like Europe.
