New Garmin Get Fit strength program could be on the way
Rumors indicate that Garmin is about to launch a new Get Fit strength training program for users of its smartwatches. This follows the new Strength Coach, which arrived alongside the Cycling Coach and the renamed Running Coach. Strength Coach gives you training plans tailored to your goals and target muscle groups and exercise equipment. However, this tool is only currently available to a limited number of the brand’s newer smartwatches, including the Fenix 8 (curr. $999.99 at Amazon).
According to a report by the5krunner, citing their regular source @JW, the Get Fit plan is aimed at those whoe are new or returning to strength training. The program is said to provide users with three workouts each week, lasting for 12 weeks. When you start your training, there is a benchmark session, allowing you to gauge your current fitness. Then, at the end of the 12 weeks, there is a similar session to compare your results and mark your progress.
Garmin has yet to officially acknowledge this rumored feature. The release date has not been provided, though it has been suggested that the tool could launch later this year. It also remains to be seen which smartwatches will gain the Get Fit strength training program at launch.
