Garmin Fenix 7 smartwatch’s latest beta update brings sleep tracking and shutdown bug fixes
A new beta update for the Garmin Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, Epix, Epix Pro, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 smartwatches has arrived. The change log for public beta version 19.30 lists one improvement and a couple of bug fixes.
According to a post in the Garmin forum, the messaging surrounding course and location backups when synced with the brand’s Explore App has been optimized. The company has also resolved an issue with the Round Trip Routing feature, which could cause the smartwatch to shut down. Plus, a problem where sleep was not recorded has been fixed. The post indicates that at least 50% of users of the Fenix 7 and related smartwatches can now access the beta update; it is unclear when the rollout will be complete.
You can check for beta version 19.30 by going to Main Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates. It is worth noting that the ECG feature is disabled when you install beta software. Users of the Fenix 7 (curr. $433.56 at Amazon) and related smartwatches can join the beta program via Garmin Connect. When a public version of the 19.xx software will roll out to these wearables remains to be seen.
