Garmin announces new Forerunner smartwatch beta update with bug fixes

Garmin has announced Public Beta Version 21.16 for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches. The update follows shortly after software version 21.14, with four bug fixes.

The change log for beta version 21.16 states that an issue with custom workouts for some activities has been resolved. Problems with heart rate data being added to the glance folder and where sleep was misrecorded have been fixed. Plus, the Other Activities accent color is now saved correctly. On top of this, the release notes include the addition of a Meditation activity and a Moon Phase glance, though these features arrived with the previous beta update. A post in the Garmin forum indicates that this is a phased rollout, though the company has not stated when all users will receive the update. Public Beta Version 21.16 for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches can be downloaded by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. The company recommends that, where possible, users sync their devices over Wi-Fi or with Garmin Express to ensure that the audio files for the Meditation activity sync.
