Cosmo Technologies unveils JrTrack 4 smartwatch for children with Spotify Kids, GPS, SOS, and no social media apps
Cosmo Technologies has launched the JrTrack 4 smartwatch for children. The smartwatch has cellular service, allowing children to call 911 for help during emergencies in a world of predators, shooters, and kidnappers. The watch also protects children from the harmful effects of social media and Internet use by not having these features.
Smartphones are very useful in modern life and have brought the knowledge and people of the world together. However, this also means the world's criminals are just a text, chat, or phone call away from contacting vulnerable children. Even when the criminal element is taken out of the picture, social media apps affect children negatively, leading to increased self-harm, mental health issues, bullying, and other problems. The Cosmo JrTrack 4 eliminates the paths to these issues by not including Internet access, social media, or communications with non-authorized individuals.
The JrTrack 4 has cellular service across the US, Canada, and Mexico to allow parents to be alerted to children wandering outside geofenced safety zones, monitor their children's GPS location in real time, and communicate with their children through calls and text messages with photo and video attachments. Additionally, only parents can add vetted individuals to the authorized contact list.
Children can wear the JrTrack 4 all day long while listening to child-friendly music with the built-in Spotify Kids app. The watch has IP68 water resistance and can be used while swimming. An activity tracker monitors the number of steps taken each day.
The smartwatch has a 1.4-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. The 1.3 Ghz dual-core CPU is paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. The watch weighs 1.66 ounces (47 grams).
The Cosmo JrTrack 4 has an MSRP of $129.99 and is available on Amazon today to help families avoid all the doomscrolling and online dangers of a regular smartphone. The JrTrack 4 has four cellular service plans starting at $17.99 per month, with cheaper rates for longer service commitments.
