Pinwheel Watch has arrived with safe calling, texting, and AI chats for children, and remote geolocation and chat monitoring for parents. A subscription provides children with the ability to contact their family wherever there is cellular reception.
Smartphones pose a significant risk when used by children who are too young to identify threats, including child predators and traffickers. They also cannot appropriately deal with the messages from bullies, drug dealers, and other online criminals that texting and social media use exposes them to. Learn how to protect children from online dangers here.
Until children are mature enough to use a smartphone, the Pinwheel Watch provides children with a safe platform for calling and texting their family and authorized contacts. Incoming texts and calls from unauthorized contacts are completely blocked.
The watch has front and rear cameras, along with the kid-friendly PinwheelGPT AI chatbot, which limits chats to safe answers with no unsafe links, images, or videos. All of these features can be disabled. A selection of child-friendly games are also included in the Pinwheel Watch, along with basic apps, such as an alarm, calculator, calendar, and stopwatch.
Parents can remotely monitor their children’s chats and location. Focus mode can be activated at specific times to turn the smartwatch into a basic watch.
The Pinwheel Watch has an MSRP of $159 and requires a subscription for cellular service at $14.99 per month, $42.99 per quarter, or $164.99 per year. The service includes 2 GB data along with unlimited texts and calls. The smartwatch can be purchased from Pinwheel and from Amazon later this year.
