Garmin releases new update to flagship smartwatches with over a dozen bug fixes, improvements and new features
Garmin continues to find bugs in the software it ships with its recent high-end smartwatches. To recap, the company started rolling out Beta Version 12.09 at the tail end of last month with over forty bug fixes for the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon).
This time, it has finalised Beta Version 12.14, which carries another bug fix heavy changelog. For example, one bug fix is said to resolve a problem where watch faces looked dimmer than expected when Always On Display functionality was enabled. Moreover, the new update addresses increased battery consumption caused by certain CIQ watch faces while also enhancing the performance of the Active App Indicator on the same watch faces.
On top of that, Garmin claims that it has fixed CIQ watch faces showing outdated data. Meanwhile, Beta Version 12.14 adds a new background colour option for the Watch Face Editor, albeit only for Solar models. As well as that, the same update introduces a 'Disabled' text on the Music Glance display when Battery Saver mode is enabled. Currently, Beta Version 12.14 will not be sent automatically. Instead, you must manually trigger its download by tapping 'Check for Updates' after navigating through the main menu to System and Software Update.
