Casio releases three new CA53 calculator watches
Casio has launched three new versions of the CA53 calculator watch in the US. The CA53WB-8B, the CA53WB-1B and the CA53WB-3B are said to pay tribute to the Casio Mini calculator launched in 1972.
The new CA53 wearables feature a negative LCD display with green text, protected by resin glass, above a full keypad. The 16 buttons can be used for their indicated calculator functions, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing up to eight digits. Plus, you can also use the keys to control some of the watch's functions, like the 1/100th second stopwatch and alarm. The wearables support dual time zones, are accurate to within 15 seconds per month and have a fully automatic calendar to the year 2099. The watch case measures 43.2 × 34.4 × 8.2 mm (~1.7 x 1.4 x 0.3 inches), and the gadgets run for up to five years on a CR2016 battery.
Customers can choose between the cream CA53WB-8B, the CA53WB-1B in black and the CA53WB-3B with a blue-green finish. You can now buy the Casio CA53WB-8B, CA53WB-1B, and CA53WB-3B watches for $35.95. They are slightly more expensive than older models like the CA53W-1, which retails for $29.95 but is currently available at Amazon for $21.92. It is unclear when these new products could arrive in Europe.
