Lenovo starts selling its Lenovo IdeaPad Y460

The 2010 Intel Core-sporting notebooks ship within 13 business days

Overview

Lenovo has allegedly made its IdeaPad Y460 notebooks available to customers for order. You can choose between two models that have identical looks but a bit different specs and expect it to arrive within 13 business days, according to Lenovo’s web shop.  The laptops sport the all new 2010 Intel Core processors and offer a stylish design.

Configuration

IdeaPad Y460 063347U

This is the cheaper pre-configured IdeaPad Y460, which is equipped with a 14-inch HD Wide LED display with a maximum resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels. Furthermore, the base model is powered by an Intel Core i3-330M CPU with a clock frequency of 2.13GHz and 3MB cache.

This IdeaPad comes with 4GB (up to 6GB) of internal DDR3 1066MHz memory and a storage capacity of 320GB in form of a mechanical hard drive that rotates at 5400RPM. In addition, customers can take advantage of Intel’s HD graphics controller and a dual-layer DVD Burner.

IdeaPad Y460 063346U

This one features an Intel Core i5-520M central processing unit, clocked at 2.40GHz. The CPUs of both models sport Intel’s Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading technologies. The latter allows to simultaneously run multiple applications without making the system unstable.

The 063346U version sports an ATI Radeon HD 5650 discrete graphics card with 1GB VRAM. Moreover, it comes with a bigger 500GB 5400RPM HDD.

Connectivity  

In terms of networking, the new IdeaPads pack Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR modules. In addition, there are also four USB ports (one is eSATA combo), an HDMI interface, a 6-in-1 card reader slot and VGA output. Users are provided with an integrated 1.3MP web camera for video calls.

Other specs and Pricing

Both systems come with a pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit operating system and one-year warranty. Furthermore, the new notebooks feature an Eco-Friendly rating and face recognition support for enhanced security.

Pricing of the two pre-configured Lenovo IdeaPads Y460 starts at US $999(€731/£662) for the base model and goes up to US $1,199(€877/£794) for the 500GB HDD/ ATI HD 5650/ Core i5-520M version.
