Huawei Mobile WiFi X: a mobile hotspot device with an unusual design and a 12,000mAh battery

A few months ago, Huawei shared a teaser for a new mobile hostpot device called the Mobile WiFi X. That teaser revealed the device will be announced in March 2026, and true to its word, the Huawei Mobile WiFi X has now made its debut in China.
The Huawei Mobile WiFi X gets its name from its X-like form when it is unfolded, but when folded, the device looks like a large power bank. This X-design also lets it stay propped up without support. Huawei says that the X-like design isn't just for aesthetics, but it also helps with signal strength.
The device has a total of 16 antennas for 360° signal reception and transmission, however, when unfolded, Huawei says the X-design allows for a 13% increase in signal strength. According to the spec sheet, the Huawei Mobile WiFi X has a peak uplink speed of 1,000Mbps and a peak downlink speed of 5.3Gbps.
The Huawei Mobile WiFi X is equipped with a screen that shows important details such as signal strength, battery level, connection status, carrier information, and time. The display supports touch input, so users can modify device settings, too. Inside the device is a 12,000mAh battery that should provide up to 24 hours of use. It also has a SIM card slot and two USB-C ports.
The Huawei Mobile WiFi X has a price tag of CNY 2499 (~$364/€316) and will be sold with data plans.
