iReader unveils Neo 3 Ultra e-reader with better performance and battery life

iReader isn't done with its Neo 3 series as it has unveiled a third model in the family of eReaders. The new Neo 3 Ultra joins the Neo 3 Pro and Neo 3 released in 2025. If its name didn't already give it away, this new addition sits at the top of the family tree.
The iReader Neo 3 Ultra has a 6-inch Carta 1300 display just like the Neo 3 Pro. However, while the pro model has a flush display that is covered with a sheet of nano-etched glass, the ultra has a sunken display.
Nevertheless, you still get iReader's i-Clean 2.0 technology which reduces ghosting; a new super refresh technology that enhances the reading experience; and ComfortLight Pro+ which allows for 30 levels of brightness and color temperature control.
Those who purchase the iReader Neo 3 Ultra should experience better performance as the e-reader is powered by an unspecified octa-core processor that is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. For comparison, the Neo 3 Pro has a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.
The iReader Neo 3 Ultra also has a slightly larger 2,000mAh battery capacity, whereas the pro model has a 1,800mAh battery. iReader says owners can expect up to 53 hours of reading time or 18 days of standby time on a single charge. It also has a set of pogo pins that attach to a case with physical page-turn buttons.
The eReader weighs roughly 150 grams and measures 7.5mm in thickness, and it comes in a pretty blue color with an orange power button. The iReader Neo 3 Ultra is available to buy in China for CNY 1,499 (~$218/€189).
