Amazon is offering a new model variant of its feature-rich e-book reader in the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft series. This device can be used to read books in color, but it also serves as a digital notepad.

Amazon is launching a new version of the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. There are no changes in terms of features or specs, as this is just a new color option. This color variant is called "Fig" and adds a touch of color, although the overall appearance remains the same due to its muted tone rather than a bright finish.

According to Amazon, the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft with 64GB of storage will retail for $679 and hit the US market on January 28. It’s unclear if or when the new SKU of this e-book reader will launch in other markets and regions, although that should just be a matter of time.

In any case, the Amazon Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is a full-featured e-reader that also includes some advanced features. For instance, users can take notes with the corresponding stylus, while an AI-powered search and chatbot is available as well.

As a result, handwritten notes are easily searchable, and documents can be imported from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive. The latter can also be used to export notes to Microsoft OneNote. Last but not least, the e-reader sports an 11-inch color display that supposedly delivers high contrast ratios and a paper-like feeling.
