We have heard quite a lot about what Apple may have in store for its next-generation MacBook Pro lineup. Apart from the obvious SoC upgrades, the MacBook Pro family might also be getting OLED displays with touch support for the first time in the history of Mac.
Now, prominent analyst Ming Chi Kuo has revealed his expectations for the upcoming Pro notebook. According to him, the next-generation OLED MacBook Pro family is likely to launch between late 2026 and early 2027, which is exactly what other tipster, including Mark Gurman, had previously claimed. Moreover, Kuo also stated that the laptop will indeed feature OLED panels with touch support.
Plenty of previous rumors have stated that Apple will once again prioritize thinness with the next-generation MacBook Pros, not dissimilar to what it did with the iPad Pro (currently $1,200 on Amazon). However, Mark Gurman recently claimed that the new highest-end OLED MacBook Pro might not feature the "Pro" moniker at all, instead sitting a tier above the M5 Pro and M5 Max-powered MacBook Pro lineup with a sky-high price tag.
Of course, the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro lineup is barely out of its infancy, and it is quite unlikely that Apple releases replacements in just 7 months. The possibility of the all-new MacBook "Ultra" launching in late 2026, with the rest of the lineup getting upgrades to M6 Silicon early next year does appear more plausible. As always, early-stage murmurs should be treated with a healthy dose of skepticism.
