Casio: New comic-book-inspired G-Shock watches' pricing revealed ahead of LA pop-up release

The manga series is one of Casio's most popular lineups - this is evident by the sheer amount of fan interest in these models when they came around. We've only ever seen two "actual" manga watches, since the supposed follow-up models were listed under an "origami" design. Recently, new leaks surfaced hinting at a brand-new comic-book themed collection dropping in the near future, which resembles the first designs minus the colors. This was followed by an official reveal from @joshuavides on Instagram. Now, another new piece of info has cemented pretty much everything, while leaking previously-unknown details.
The new info shared by @geesgshock on Instagram shows that the previously revealed comic-style watches - the Casio G‑Shock DW‑5600JV‑7 and Casio G‑Shock DW‑6900JV‑1 - will retail for $180 each. The collaboration gets Vides' signature hand-drawn, pen-outlined aesthetic, which gives both watches a stylized comic-book look. The DW-5600 version uses a white resin case and strap with black sketch-style lines, while the DW-6900 model flips the theme with a black base and bold white outline accents across the bezel and strap.

New product shots also reveal the watches will ship in custom collaboration packaging, with splatter graphics and co-branding from G-Shock and Joshua Vides. The box design matches the monochrome art style used on the watches themselves.
According to more details officially shared by Joshua (see Instagram post below), the launch will begin with a two-day pop-up event in Los Angeles. The temporary store is scheduled to open March 14-15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2272 Venice Boulevard. The same source indicates that the watches will become available online globally on Monday at 9 a.m. PST via the artist’s website following the pop-up event. Attendees at the LA launch may also receive limited promotional items - early visitors will be reportedly eligible for additional freebies.
Functionally, both models remain standard digital G-Shock designs. Expected features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, LED backlight and 200 m water resistance, consistent with the base DW-5600 and DW-6900 platforms.
