New Casio Edifice EFK-200 mechanical watches revealed with new movement and dials

Casio's first mechanical watch launched under the Edifice line in 2024, and it was instantly a hit, thanks to the company's long-running status. As of writing, it has been two years since its launch, and now another key leak has just surfaced - the Casio Edifice EFK-200, which will be the next step in the company's still-fresh mechanical lineup. The information comes from early renders and translated specifications (courtesy of Casioblog), so some details should still be treated as tentative - even though the source has a solid track record.
What you'll notice off the bat is the shift in proportions. The EFK-200 is listed with a 38 mm case diameter and 11.9 mm thickness, which means it is way more compact and wearable than earlier EFK-100 and EFK-110 series models (at 42 mm and 40 mm, respectively). The bracelet version is said to weigh around 154 grams, while a strap variant drops closer to 90 grams.
Movement and internal changes
The biggest change is inside the watch. The EFK-200 reportedly uses a Miyota 8215-based module (caliber 5766), which should effectively replace the NH35 used in the earlier EFK-100.
On paper, the specs will be familiar:
- Around 42 hours of power reserve
- 21 jewels
- Standard automatic operation

Case and design direction
The EFK-200 looks like an upgrade rather than a complete design overhaul. The case looks to be more rounded and streamlined, not like the slightly sharper lines of the EFK-100 series. The bezel also looks thinner, which, in turn, gives the dial more presence. Also, going by the renders, the bracelet flows directly into the case without traditional lugs.
Dial changes and variants
The dial is where the update becomes more special. Earlier models had a textured, almost "stone-like" surfaces. The EFK-200, however, appears to have more gradient finishes with fine speckled detailing, which makes them almost resemble dials on some Seiko's Presage models.
At launch, five color variants are expected:
- Black (EFK-200CD-1A)
- Blue (EFK-200D-2A)
- Red (EFK-200D-4A)
- Gold-tone (EFK-200DG-5A)
- Black IP + strap version (EFK-200XPB-1A)
The black IP model may also feature a carbon case element, based on early leaks from the same source. Sapphire crystal is also likely across the range, although this has not been explicitly confirmed.
Casioblog also adds that pricing isn't finalized, but the watches could land somewhere between $350 to $400, slightly above the EFK-110 series. A summer 2026 release window is currently expected.
