Two new Casio G-Shock Japan-inspired watches could be on the way

Another Casio G-Shock Japan-inspired watch is rumored to be on the way. In the past, the brand has released watch series linked to a range of Japanese cultural icons, such as the Shiba Inu hunting dog and the Edo-period artist Katsushika Hokusai.
Now, a report by Casio blog Great G-Shock World suggests that two new watches inspired by Japanese culture are in development. It is thought that the products will have a design based on red lanterns, which are typically associated with izakaya eating and drinking spots. There are rumored to be two red lantern-themed watches, based on the G-Shock DW-5600 and DW-6900 models. However, the exact design of these watches has yet to be revealed.
The G-Shock DW-5600 is a rectangular digital watch with a resin casing and strap. It offers features like a stopwatch, an alarm and a timer, and is water resistant to 20 bar. The G-Shock DW-6900 is a Triple Graph digital watch with a round resin casing and matching strap. It offers similar tools to the DW-5600, with the same 200 m water resistance rating.
Rumors suggest that these watches could be released in April 2026. However, these models have yet to be officially announced by Casio. While they are likely to launch first in Japan, they could also be rolled out to other countries like the US and Germany, where the brand has sold older Japan-inspired watches like the DW-5600KHK25-1.
