Canyon has announced two new urban-focused bikes, the Citylite and the Citylite:ON, in the EMEA region. The Citylite:ON e-bike has a Bosch Performance Line 600 W motor and a removable 400 Wh battery that delivers a maximum assistance range of 85 km (52.8 miles) on a single charge. Plus, it ships with a Gates carbon belt drive and Shimano Nexus hub gears.

Canyon has launched a new range of Citylite and Citylite:ON bikes in the EMEA region. The Citylite:ON e-bike, designed to be used for riding around the city, commuting, or running errands, comes with a solid set of features and a premium price tag, too. As for the build, the e-bike comes with a lightweight aluminum frame with carbon forks. Interestingly, the Citylite:ON comes in two frame variants—step-over and step-through, which weigh 22.1 kg (48.1 lbs) and 21.6 kg (47.6 lbs), respectively.

The Citylite:ON e-bike is powered by a Bosch Performance Line 600 W motor paired with a Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub gear, offering up to 75 Nm torque. Unlike traditional chain-driven e-bikes, this urban-focused electric bike uses a low-maintenance Gates CDC belt drive for power transmission. A 400 Wh removable battery powers the e-bike, which is said to offer up to 85 km (52.8 miles) of assistance range in eco mode and up to 40 km (24.8 miles) of range in turbo mode.

According to Canyon, the Citylite:ON’s battery capacity is also expandable with a 250 Wh Powermore range extender that extends the e-bike’s range up to 50 km (31 miles). Other features include a Bosch Purion 200 display, Canyon Promax urban clean disc brakes, a Supernova Starstream front light, an M15 rear light with brake light function, wide Maxxis DTR-1 tires, and an SP Connect SPC+E-Cap smartphone mount positioned at the center of the handlebars with a wireless charging module.

There are also accessories like the MIK HD rear luggage rack, a tow bar for up to 60 kg (132.2 lbs) load, child seats, front luggage carriers, an Atran Velo Edge HV side stand, a frame lock, and a bottle holder mount. Alongside the Citylite:ON e-bike, Canyon has also announced the Citylite bicycle with a Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub gear and a low-maintenance Gates CDN belt drive. Like the former, it also comes in step-over and step-through frame options. Weight-wise, it’s lighter than the Citylite:ON, weighing 15.94 kg (35.1 lbs) for the step-over and 15.88 kg (35 lbs) for the step-through frame, respectively.

As for the price, the Citylite:ON and the Citylite start at €2,999 and €1,499, respectively. Both bikes are now available for purchase from Canyon’s official website.
