The Galaxy Z Fold7 is not expected to be Samsung's next flagship smartphone release. Instead, recent rumours suggest that the Galaxy S25 Edge is next up for the company after its initial showcase in January. Based on recent rumours, Samsung's fourth Galaxy S25 flagship will land on May 13, two months before the rumoured arrival of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold6 successor.
Nonetheless, Greek website Techmaniacs claims to have obtained plenty of information about Samsung's next book-style foldable well ahead of schedule. For example, the website reports that the Galaxy Z Fold7 will be a mere 8.2 mm thick when closed, which would see it undercut the current thinnest foldable, the Oppo Find N5, by 0.7 mm.
If accurate, this thickness would represent a 2.4 mm drop from the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and a 3.9 mm saving on the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,600 on Amazon). This would also indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold7 would be around 4 mm on each side when opened, compared to 5.6 mm and 4.9 mm for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, respectively. It is worth stressing that Techmaniac's data is at odds with typically reliable sources, which put the thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold7 at around 9.5 mm.
Conversely, the website's other information about the device reiterates previous expectations. For example, Techmaniacs suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold7 will feature a 200 MP primary camera like the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset is also tipped, as are 6.5-inch cover and 8-inch foldable displays.
