Oukitel may have been inspired by the Honor Magic6 to make its next upcoming smartphone - although its take on the design has reportedly resulted in a profoundly chunky version thanks to its 10,000mAh+ battery and IP68/IP69K/MIL-STD-810H ingress protection ratings. It will launch with more up-to-date software than the average rugged phone and microSD card support, although its main advantage is said to come with a potential drawback.

Oukitel's next rugged device is now slated to launch as the WP35, even though its alleged predecessor did so as the WP36. Then again, it seems the newer version is not much of a step backward, as it is now touted to launch with the brand's biggest smartphone battery of 2024, whereas the WP36 had the year's most powerful speaker to date.

Accordingly, the 2 devices might have little in common in terms of looks, with the WP35 in its leaked images coming off like a beefed-up Honor Magic6, whereas the WP36 launched in the form of a mutant Nubia Z60 Ultra.

Then again, the triangle of cameras on the back of the former are said to be nothing to shout about, with a 2MP macro shooter to go with an 8MP "night vision" sensor and a 64MP main lens.

Nevertheless, the WP35 might score some wins with its relatively up-to-date Android 14-based OS and Dimensity 6100+ platform, not to mention its 11,000mAh battery.

As handy a feature as that might be, it is also projected to make the device weigh 360 grams (g), measure 15.3 millimeters (mm) in height and take forever to charge with a rate of 18 watts (W) at the most.

The WP35 is also portrayed as having a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with an old-fashioned water-drop notch. Then again, it may also have storage expandable by as much as 2TB, a customizable side button and an introductory price of $200.

The Oukitel WP35 is believed to debut on AliExpress in May 2024. Meanwhile, its veritable polar opposite the K16 with a 3.5-inch display and a 3,050mAh battery has hit Amazon.com at a price of $185.99.

The Oukitel WP35 might be a battery monster, but will that spec be worth it IRL? (Source: GSMArena)
