Oppo tends to release new members of its Reno-series Android smartphones twice in the same year. Accordingly, the supposedly upcoming 14 series might succeed its existing successors from November 2024 in or around June 2025.
The OEM plans to upgrade them with features once exclusive to its flagship smartphones, such as more accurate ultrasonic fingerprint readers and more powerful 0809 haptics. Those specs would build on premium perks such as an IP68/69 build and metallic mid-frames already found in the Reno 13 series.
The Reno 13 and 13 Pro also bring features such as 1.5K AMOLED displays, the new Mediatek Dimensity 8350 and the option of camera hump backlighting (otherwise exclusive to the higher-end iQoo 13) to its tiers of the market in countries such as India.
The "Reno 14 Pro" might also have rear cameras with trendy upgrades such as a triple 50MP set-up augmented with lenses for 3x periscope zoom and mid-focus shooting. The former might be backed with a Sony IMX882 sensor, while the other 2 might be Samsung ISOCELL JN5s.
The 14 and/or 14 Pro might be among the first Reno handsets to have Oppo's Quick Button, an answer to Apple's Camera Control that debuted in the Find X8 series.
Furthermore, the button just might be of the new capacitive variety also allegedly destined for the upcoming top-end Find X8 Ultra, thereby allowing it to double as a short-cut to other functions and features such as profile switching.
Some or all of these upgrades are apparently headed to the upcoming crop of mid-2025 sub-flagship smartphones developed by Oppo in general, according to the eminent leaker Digital Chat Station, meaning that they might also show up in devices such as the successors to the K12 series or OnePlus Ace 3V - and even the Nord 4, perhaps.
