Xiaomi has released the Self-Install Smart Lock in a couple of countries. This smart home product is designed to work with the door’s existing lock system. It first appeared on the brand’s global website in October 2025.
Now, you can buy the Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock at the brand’s online stores in countries like Japan, where it retails for ¥12,980 (~$82) and the United Arab Emirates, where it is priced at AED 359 (~$98). Plus, support pages in European countries such as the UK, Spain and Italy suggest that this product could be released in this region in the near future.
The Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock is said to be quick to install, fitting over the existing lock structure with no drilling required. There is a range of unlocking methods, including a fingerprint or a permanent or temporary password. You could also use Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or voice controls for touch-free unlocking, and there is a physical backup key. Through the Xiaomi Home app, users can manage the smart lock and check whether it is currently locked. Other features include automatic locking, anti-tamper alerts and support for the Matter smart home standard.
It is unclear precisely when the Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock will be released in Europe, and how much it will cost. In this market, it could compete with devices like the SwitchBot Lock Ultra (curr. from €204.99 at Amazon DE).
