New Arlo Ultra 3 security camera comes with 4K HDR, 180-degree FOV and AI
Arlo has introduced two new smart home security cameras, namely the Ultra 3 and Pro 6. Both models are available now and can be purchased in various bundles at retailers such as Amazon.
Arlo Ultra 3 with 4K resolution and 180-degree field of view
The Ultra 3 is the new flagship security camera from Arlo. It features 4K HDR resolution for particularly high-resolution recordings. The 180 degree ultra-wide viewing angle monitors a very large area both during the day and at night.
Of course, the Arlo Ultra 3 also comes with AI. The AI-powered Arlo Secure Early Warning System is designed to reliably detect people, vehicles, animals, packages, fire and custom events and provide corresponding alerts. However, this requires an Arlo Secure Plus membership that starts at $9.99 a month for a single camera or $19.99 for multiple cameras.
In addition, the 4K security camera features an integrated spotlight, siren and two-way audio, among other things. The Arlo Ultra 3 can be bought in a bundle with the corresponding SmartHub, which offers local storage options as an alternative to cloud storage. A single camera starts at $195 on Amazon.
Arlo Pro 6 with 2K+ HDR and 12-bit color sensor
The new Arlo Pro 6 also comes with the Arlo Secure Early Warning System, which also requires a paid subscription. The technical features of this security camera include 2K+ HDR resolution, enhanced color night vision thanks to a 12-bit color sensor and 12x zoom with auto-tracking. The field of view is pretty wide with an angle of 160 degrees.
Spotlight and a siren are also included. According to the official spec sheet, battery life has been improved, but the battery is also replaceable and can be fast-charged via USB-C. In terms of pricing, the Arlo Pro 6 starts at $124 for a single pack on Amazon.
