The Pill by Shelly is now available in the US following its December 2025 launch in Europe. This compact accessory is designed for use with standard sensors and low-voltage peripherals, allowing them to operate as smart devices. For example, it could be used to monitor the water temperature in an aquarium, the climate in a greenhouse, or the voltage of a battery system.
Shelly’s The Pill is compatible with various input/output types, with three configurable digital inputs or outputs. It can read DC voltages up to 30V with an external add-on. Plus, the accessory can read temperature, humidity, and environmental data from DS18B20 and DHT22 sensors with support for cloud logging. Users could also connect 0-5V analog sensors to capture data like light intensity or soil moisture.
The Pill comes with Shelly Gen3 functionality, and can integrate via MQTT, WebSocket and HTTP. It offers both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, with a built-in Bluetooth Gateway allowing it to communicate with nearby devices. This white gadget is powered via USB-C, and measures 26.0 x 19.95 x 8.5 mm (~1.02 x 0.79 x 0.34 inches) and weighs 3 g (~0.11 oz).
You can now buy The Pill by Shelly in the US for $10.49. Limited stock, approximately 250 units, is currently available at the brand’s online store. It is unclear when it could be available more widely.
