Shelly releases new Matter-compatible Dimmer Gen4 in the US

Shelly has finally released the Dimmer Gen4 in the US. Arriving in Europe in November 2025, the gadget can turn regular lights into smart lights. This allows users to remotely control their lights via apps like Shelly Smart Control or with the voice assistant of their choice.

As indicated by its name, the Shelly Dimmer Gen4 is an upgraded version of the Dimmer Gen3. It offers support for three protocols, adding Zigbee to the existing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options. On top of this, the latest model is Matter compatible, meaning it can integrate with a wide range of smart home ecosystems, such as Apple Home, Google Home and Home Assistant.

Shelly’s Dimmer Gen4 is designed to fit behind a typical switch and will work with or without a neutral wire. This model is compatible with a range of light types, including up to 150W dimmable LED lamps, up to 200W incandescent bulbs, and up to 200W halogen lamps. The smart home product has a green casing, though this should be concealed inside the switch, measuring 38.5 x 43.5 x 17.0 mm (~1.52 x 1.71 x 0.67 inches).

At the Shelly online store in the US, you can buy the Dimmer Gen4 for $49.99. In this country, the brand has also recently released the Shelly ⁠Ecowitt WS90 Weather Station and the ⁠Shelly BLU H&T Display ZB.
