New ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY gaming handheld released with upgraded AMD Ryzen APU
The ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY (curr. $869.99 on Amazon) is nearly a year old. Since then, One-Netbook has released various ONEXPLAYER-branded devices, including the X1 Mini and an updated version of the larger X1. Now, One-Netbook has given the ONEXFLY a similar treatment, albeit without any physically noticeable changes.
Specifically, the company has upgraded the device to the Ryzen 7 8840U, a modest improvement over the Ryzen 7 7840U with which the ONEXFLY was previously available. According to our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 8840U only enjoys a 3% advantage over the Ryzen 7 7840U. With that being said, both feature Radeon 780M iGPUs. As such, the new ONEXFLY is unlikely to outperform its predecessor in GPU-heavy tasks like AAA gaming.
Currently, the updated gaming handheld starts at $999 with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. While this is significantly more expensive than the ONEXFLY's original launch price of $739, this entry-level version came with just 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Incidentally, although the new ONEXFLY can be picked up with 2 TB of storage, there are no 64 GB RAM options available at the time of writing. Please see our original ONEXFLY launch article for more hardware details.
