Mixed Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Steam reviews slam microtransactions

Ubisoft may be content with the critical response to its Black Flag remake. However, despite an 84 Metascore, players aren’t as enthusiastic on its release date. After a negative initial reaction, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Steam reviews have rebounded to a mixed rating. Nevertheless, complaints about excessive microtransactions and bugs are rampant.
Costly cosmetics
The publisher is asking PC, Xbox, and PS5 users to pay $59.99 for a modernized version of a 2013 title. That already fueled blowback, but the price of bonus content is surprisingly high. Owners of the $69.99 Deluxe Edition feel that more of the roughly $90 in DLC should have been included.
Most of the goodies are cosmetics to redecorate characters and ships. Still, the map pack makes it easier to discover treasures, Animus fragments, and various rewards. Some fans had expected the Deluxe version to offer this resource.

Mixed Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Steam reviews also focus on performance limitations. Cutscenes were a highlight of the original Assassin’s Creed game. Unfortunately, for many PC users, the cinematics only render at 30 fps. Ubisoft has responded, suggesting settings that resolve the problem until it pushes out a fix.
Did Ubisoft writers miss an opportunity?
Other gamers aren’t thrilled that the modern-day narrative is missing. This omission was noted by critics, who found that the storyline would have connected the remake to contemporary entries in the franchise.
Whether the developers have improved combat is a separate debate. During battles, players can no longer steal weapons from opponents. The ability made the encounters seem more unpredictable. Some reviews now describe the action as clunky.
Microtransactions, capped frame rates and other drawbacks haven’t stopped buyers from reliving the tale of Edward Kenway. Following strong Black Flag Resynced pre-orders, the title reached a peak concurrent Steam player count of just under 100,000. That handily beats the Assassin's Creed Shadows mark of 64,825 for the best result in the series.
